If you wish to pull out data from the Labstory client/server database, either to store it separately or to transport it to someone else/a different computer, you can use export files. Export files are a container format and can contain various types of objects, for example:
To secure the content, you can further encrypt the files (using someones public key), and thus safely send them with any regular email. Or you can use your own key to password-protect the content.
